Self watering Wicking bed, IBC beds with a few modifications
Hi folks. This clip shows a few modifications I’ve been making to the IBC wicking beds when constructing them.
The extra water holding capacity reduces the frequency of watering needed during the warmer months making them a bit more time efficient as well.

I would just like to thank Colin Austin for sharing his wicking bed idea freely with the world. It is great to see all the ways people have used this idea to come up with their own versions. I am a huge fan of wicking beds with the majority of the plants grown here coming from a wicking bed or wicking Root Pouch gardens. They help to conserve water & save you a lot of time watering.
