Aquaponic garden at Mackaway's Cafe.

Made another trip out to Mackaway’s Café in the small country town of Harrisville on the weekend for a spot of lunch & to catch up with our mate, Ben the owner. The thing that makes this café a bit different is that there is a working aquaponic system in the courtyard that provides some of the veggies used in the café.
I love that you can sit at tables between the grow beds & check out the fish in the system through the viewing windows in the tanks.

If you’re interested in checking out Mackaway’s Café you can find it at 33 Queen Street in Harrisville, about a 20min drive from our home here in Ipswich, SE Queensland.

You can also see what’s going on at the café by checking in on Ben’s Facebook page,

Have a great one everyone.

Visited Ben at his aquaponic café on the weekend & thought others might like to have a look at the system & what’s growing in the courtyard. Ben makes a mean burger too BTW if you’re thinking of heading out that way 😉
Hope you enjoy the look folks.
